You may find it helpful to write down your questions prior to your appointment to ensure all of your concerns are addressed.

Partners, parents, caregivers, and supportive friends are all welcome at your appointments. Educating those closest to you can sometimes be extremely helpful in the recovery process.

Children are also welcome but be mindful they may take time away from your appointment if they are unable to entertain themselves safely.

Participating in pelvic floor treatment while on your period is a decision left solely up to you.

Patients are still able to receive successful treatment during menstruation, regardless of whether internal pelvic floor work is done or not. However, if this is something you are not comfortable with, you can absolutely reschedule your appointment or request that no internal work is performed.

Most new moms wait between 4-6 weeks after giving birth, and typically not sooner than 3 weeks. You are always welcome to bring your baby to your appointments.

If you would like additional support prior to the 3-week mark, you may find a telehealth visit easier than leaving the house.

However, some moms wait 5-10 years or more before feeling like they have the time to seek help for their pelvic floor symptoms. It's never too late.
